Greentec Recycling operates 34 locations nationwide, providing fast, reliable battery intake and logistics support for OEMs, dealerships, fleets, scrapyards, and commercial partners. Our nationwide footprint allows customers to safely drop off or arrange pickup of hybrid and EV batteries without long transport distances or prolonged on-site storage. By keeping locations close to where batteries originate, we reduce risk, accelerate turnaround times, and eliminate unnecessary administrative complexity. With a streamlined intake process and minimal paperwork, Greentec makes responsible battery handling simple, compliant, and efficient.
Battery Evaluation & Testing
Every battery that enters Greentec Recycling goes through a data-driven evaluation and testing process. We handle all hybrid and EV battery types, including lithium chemistries such as LFP, LMO, LTO, NMC, and NCA. Using proprietary diagnostic tools and advanced testing equipment, we assess state of health, voltage, capacity, and overall performance. This evaluation determines the most responsible path forward—whether the battery should be recycled, sent for further remanufacturing, or transferred into the Greentec Auto or Greentec Energy ecosystem. This decision-based approach prevents unnecessary destruction of viable batteries and maximizes value recovery while maintaining safety and compliance.
Battery Disassembly & Discharging
Before recycling, batteries undergo a controlled disassembly and discharging process to ensure safe handling. Batteries are disassembled to the module level, then fully discharged using specialized discharge machines designed to safely remove all remaining electrical energy. This process is critical for minimizing fire risk, thermal events, and handling hazards. Disassembly and discharging are performed on customer return batteries from Greentec Auto replacements, as well as batteries received from dealerships, fleets, and energy storage system operators. By rendering batteries electrically inert before recycling, Greentec ensures a safe and compliant downstream process.
Recycling & Material Sorting
When batteries are no longer suitable for remanufacturing or second-life energy storage applications, Greentec Recycling performs in-house material sorting and separation. We recycle all hybrid and EV batteries, separating plastics, metals, and battery-derived materials, including black mass. While Greentec does not refine materials in-house, our sorting process produces clean, compliant material streams ready for downstream refinement.
